Before you even get to the food, this offbeat, idiosyncratic venue is a feast for the eyes, with its giant Buddha, luxuriant tropical greenery, gurgling stream & ponds full of goldfish – not to mention the fantastic views of the Thames. The menu also sets out to dazzle, with page after page of stir-fries, curries & other familiar Thai treats, plus a few less common specialities. Check out the spiced mango salad topped with marinated shredded prawns, the char-grilled lamb cutlets in a spicy Thai-style mint & coriander sauce, or the himmaparn (tofu with fried cashews, spring onions, mushrooms & dried chillis). If you can’t decide, plump for one of the four wide-ranging set menus. Sunday brings a family-friendly buffet lunch, accompanied by a pianist at the white baby grand. The wine list features some suitably sophisticated bottles from around the globe.
